Arriving Late

Usually Arrives Late.              -Georgian Proverb

You have a lot to do.  So do I.  So does everybody.  Hopefully the things on our calendars are activities we enjoy and/or are interested in.  I have a tendency to schedule LOTS of things because there are so many fun things to do!  The problem is that in my efforts to squeeze every last minute out of the day, I don't always leave enough time for the transitions.  You know, the time it takes you to get out of the house in the morning or the time it takes you to get from one place to another.  If you leave allowing only the exact number of minutes it should take you to arrive, odds are you're going to be a bit stressed out when you get there because there is almost always something unexpected that happens in route.  You get stuck behind a school bus, there is road construction causing a traffic back up, you get stopped by every light that ever existed.  The possibilities are endless!   These transition times are so important because the quality of that time is going to influence the type of experience you have when you finally do arrive at your destination.  If you're running late and feeling stressed, you'll have to calm down before you can be present in the new situation.  If, however, you arrive feeling relaxed and calm, you can be present as soon as you walk in.

Here is the Question:

How can you improve the quality of your transition times to help you enjoy more of your day?
