Financial Coaching

One of the most challenging relationships we have to navigate is our relationship with money.  Unfortunately, most of us were never taught in school about budgeting, saving for retirement and how to avoid or get out of debt.  I believe that financial literacy is one of the most empowering things we can learn because it will impact every area of our life.

As a Professional Organizer, I have helped some of my clients learn how to better organize their money simply because I have a sincere passion for balancing my checkbooks (yes, I still have checkbooks!) and telling my money exactly where I want it to go every month.

In order to be able to help more people with this problem area, I took a comprehensive Financial Coaching training.  I am happy to add this service to those that I offer to clients.

If you are struggling with making ends meet, with how to pay off your debts or how to create and stick to a budget and would like to explore how you could change that, please contact me so that we can schedule a no obligation phone call to find out if some Financial Coaching might be right for you.

Questions From Polly

""Questions from Polly" offers a few moments to pause and reflect in ways that are meditative, encouraging, thought-provoking and sometimes like an arrow straight to the current matter one wrestles with."

Here's an example of what you can expect to receive:

"The evidence of your belief is action."

I saw this phrase on a business marque the other dy when I was on my way to a client.  It felt like a lightening bolt in my brain!  So often we woner why we take action on certain ideas and not on others.  This seemed like the simplest, most straight forward answer.  The trick can be tracking down which of our beliefs is misfiring when we keep putting something off.  For instance, let's say you're trying to declutter your basement.  Now, we know that it is technically possible because other people have decluttered their basements.  So now you have to start asking yourself what you believe about YOU being able to declutter YOUR basement.  Maybe you believe that you don't have the time or that you don't know how to get started or you don't know what to do with all the stuff you no longer want or.....or.....or...etc.  The beliefs are as endless as there are people to think them.  The good news is that once you know what this is, you can decide if it's really true or if it's just old baggage.  Once you can make a shift, action will be easy.  If you find yourself consistently avoiding something, ask yourself:

Here is the Question:

What do you believe about the task that is preventing you from getting  started?

What people are saying:

"No matter what my schedule entails, I always take those moments to read what Polly has to say. Usually I just go about my business, but there are times I feel she has read my mind and knows exactly the words I need to hear. I have passed them on to help friends, replied from time to time in appreciation, and undoubtedly her words have become a part of the changes in awareness and presence that I begin to recognize in my journey. I may skip many of the things I would like to do, from exercise to meditation, but there is always a few moments for Polly. She is a gifted lifeline."                     -Jennie H.

The Mess Mender

Helping you clear out those big messes.

How would you spend your time if you didn't feel stuck because of your clutter?

We all evolve faster than our stuff. So at any given time, you are probably surrounded by things that don’t even represent who you are today. I know that it can be difficult to know where to start if your home is buried in clutter. Decluttering can be scary and overwhelming.

I specialize in helping people get started on the process and keep them focused on going through their belongings and deciding what they want to keep and what no longer serves them. By rolling up my sleeves and helping you stay focused on the task, I keep you moving forward through that point in the process at which most people would typically walk away.

Choosing to donate some of the items you no longer want is a great way to pass them on to someone who could be using them. In order to free up more of your time and space, I will take anything you decide to donate with me on the day of your appointment and mail you the receipt (if you choose to receive one). This way it gives you one less thing to worry about and lets you see the progress you have made!

Take the Questionnaire

Clutter is about more than your stuff

Your thoughts influence how you're able to organize your space. Ask yourself the following questions to find out how your thoughts are getting in the way of your organizing efforts.

1. Who would you like to be, that you can't be right now, because of your clutter?

2. What dreams do you want your space to support?

3. Where would you like to focus your time and energy once you're organized?

4. When would you like to be organized by?

5. Why have you been unable to get and stay organized?

If you are intrigued by your answers to the these questions or had difficulty answering them, give me a call at 513.305.0401 and we'll walk through it together.

I look forward to helping you decide your next step.
